Can of biscuits

package of cocktail weenies or hot dogs (I prefer turkey or beef)

baking sheet

Take a biscuit cut in half roll it out and then put your selection of meat at the top of the dough and roll them up!  Place on the baking sheet, repeat until all of the biscuit dough or the weenies are gone, and then place in the oven for 15-20 min or until golden brown.  Take them out and let them cool then give to child.  ***Be careful hot dogs can be considered a choking hazard so just keep an eye on your Little One.***

I know with my kids you have to find something that they like and is filling and will be healthy enough to keep them going.  This has protein and carbohydrates, so it is not all that bad.  Of course this is not a daily food.

Alternatives:

If your child likes cheese you can also roll them up with cheese or put the cheese on top!

For Mommy and Daddy you can use cream cheese and biscuit only or add in a dog too!

For Vegetarians you can use cheese or cheese and tofu dogs.

Vegans could use tofu.

1 lb of Chicken(Boneless Skinless)

8 large leaves of Fresh Basil

1 Jar of Alfredo ( Your favorite brand)

Pinch of Salt (to taste)

Pinch of Pepper (to taste)

Garlic powder(1/2 tsp) or fresh(1/4 tsp)

Onion Powder (1/2 tsp) or fresh(1/2 onion)

1/4 cup of butter, olive oil, or margarine ( I prefer butter)

1 package of Egg Noodles

First, put the butter(or oil of your choice) in the skillet and melt it on med heat. Then add your chicken and let it brown on both sides on med to med high heat.  While the chicken is cooking you can add the basil, onion, garlic, salt and pepper.

Start boiling your water for the noodles once one side of the chicken is finished.

Once your chicken is finished and all is cooked to your liking add the Alfredo Sauce and mix all of the ingredients together.

Strain your noodles and put on plate.

Add chicken and sauce to the noodles and serve.

If you like basil you can add so fresh chopped basil as a garnish on the top of the sauce.

And if you have picky eaters you could mix it all together before you give it to them!

About the recipe:

I know this is a lot of verses to tie together, but to me they go hand in hand.

So I am going to be really personal right now and let you all into my world for a min, so that I can explain why all of these fit together in my mind.  Not that I will compare myself to Job and his trials and tribulations, but I believe that I was being tested in my own way.  I have two beautiful daughters and a son on the way.  We were living in a place that would not be considered fit for an animal to live and we did not have the means to move.  I was working 2 full time jobs and a part time job.  In one day, I lost the 2 full time jobs, got an eviction notice, because I asked the Landlord too many times to fix the problems in the apt and I owed him money(less than the other tenants), hit a car with my door(no damage), and she wanted to call the police, and the day kept going on like this extending into the week.   Through these Trials and Tribulations, I was allowing myself to start doubting God, and truly blaming where I was in my life on Him!   Not once did I stop and look at my situation and blame the appropriate person…Myself!!!

I know you all are probably thinking that I shouldn’t blame myself, but this is why I did.  I did not take the time to use the basic rules of crossing a busy and dangerous intersection like life:  STOP, LOOK, and LISTEN!

STOP: looking at what is ahead and behind and focus on the NOW. Stop allowing yourself to blame others for the choices that you make day to day.  Stop being a “victim” of God and Start being a “survivor” of God.

LOOK: at what YOU can do to work WITH God to improve your situations.  Number one pray and give it to him, and when you do, remember, to leave it with him, because once you start worrying about it again, then you are doubting God. And as we all know we should never doubt God and his abilities.

LISTEN:  to what he has to say and what or who he puts in your life to help guide you.  Now in this time and day we are considered crazy if we say we listened to God or heard God say.  Well let me remind you of something, he talked to people in the old days WHY would he change that now, because we have more to listen too? and look at?  and keep our attention?  So when I say listen for God, I mean it!!  He tells us things all of the time and either we don’t like his answer or we don’t LISTEN, and Garth Brooks said it the best, “Sometimes I thank God for unanswered prayers!”  When you don’t hear him he is not talking yet.  He likes to weigh your options too.  ‘If I allow this to happen, will this bring them closer to me?’,  ‘If I don’t allow this to happen, will this bring them closer to me?’, ‘If they get what they want will this affect someone else and bring them closer to me?’  It’s not always about us, sometimes we have to listen for the answer to our prayers to benefit others too.

Now all of that being said, I would like you to know how all of this combined has and is changing my life!  I learned to be cautious of running out into that busy intersection and asking myself, do I need to do this by myself or do I need to turn to someone and ASK for the extra guidance.  And that someone for me was the Lord.  I finally gave up and started asking for help when I was at my lowest, all of my stuff sold or given away, no home to call ours, and the fear of losing my job because I couldn’t maintain life in general. Needless to say I was at rock bottom and scared.  Then the verses from above came into my dream, (God speaking), one night and they haven’t left me since. I had a true peace after that and diligently started praying again and feeling like it would all be ok.  I didn’t know how and I didn’t know when but I knew I was back in the Lord’s full embrace because I turned back to him instead of turning my back on him.

Within this week of “losing” everything and truly loving God and listening to Him with all of my heart, praying, and believing that he was going to provide everything that we needed, our lives have turned around completely.  He has provided for us and given us stability again in home, finances, and love of family and friends.  Once again, God puts people in your life that he works and talks through and I believe my boss and mom are some of them! Not to mention the church that my kids started going to opened their arms to all of us (even me the one pushing God away), helped me see where my kids and I are meant to be, because of their love and devotion to God as well!!

So remember, WHATEVER intersection, crossroads, or one way street you may think you are on there is always a safe way across.  Lean on the one true being that can help you through EVERYTHING…GOD!!!

So as a human that lives in the world of information now, we have forgotten that God told us, literally in the beginning that because of the choices that we as humans made, that he would INCREASE our pain as women in the childbearing process.  Well we have either forgotten, dismissed, or stopped relying on God’s words of what he will do or what he is going to do.  So we try all of these extra cirricular activities to take the focus off of what he really wants from us… To rely on him in the good and bad!  Now I am not saying that childbirth is bad, but if you have gone through it, it is not what we would consider fun, but the end product is the best part!  We get to hold that precious life in our arms and forget about the pain.

My sister is not a religious person but a faithful one and when she was having her first son I was 17 and what she told me in the delivery room affected me until now and has caused me to rely on God even more during the birthing process!  As she was lying there in pain I heard her husband say a name, that I knew and she put her head down and closed her eyes.  I said, after the contraction of course, “What were you doing?” and she says, “I am praying for someone else during my contractions.” Me, “Um, why?”  Her, “Because no matter what pain I am in now, there is someone out there that needs God more, and mine will pass and I get to enjoy what comes after the pain.  AND Maybe they need that little extra prayer to get them through what they are living through now or later!”  Now, for me, that stuck and I told every woman I knew that was pregnant that they should try it and low and behold five years later I got to test the theory for myself.  I prepared the list of 100 names and was ready to go to the hospital I had only the list and forgot everything else, because I knew I wouldn’t need anything until after the baby was born. LOL.  I walked in nervous and unknowing and then I remembered my sister sitting there focusing on someone else during her painful time and thought I can do this, with God!  I sat there and endured the worst part to me which was the IV and prepped myself for the contractions.

Here came the contractions, because I was induced they were intense, and I had my mom read me a name and I would sit there and pray for specific needs or general things that that person might possibly need, and I have to say that was my true saving grace.  The more I focused on someone else’s pain or problems the less I felt mine.  Maybe God was waiting on me to take the initiative to rely on him, and to raise the ones that I prayed for up to him, because I can honestly say he held me through the whole process!!

I praise God for the fact that he put that experience in my life before I went through it, because I would have been lost without him.  Just like now I am lost without him and I feel like we should raise all of those in our contraction prayers up to him, ALL OF THE TIME not just when we are in pain or discomfort!

Ladies, the best part about all of this is holding that precious new life’s hand in yours, and molding them into what God wants them to be!!

So I am Sabrina and this is my first devotional and I really felt like I needed to do this for the sake of someone, could even just be for me, but at least it was done with the love and good intentions of God.
